This Festive Cocktail – A Recipe

WHere is a simplified version of a drink found on a new cocktail list. It's a batch premix which is bursting with flavours of the holiday season, rendering it perfect for hosting a celebration. Save the extra cordial to use in brunch beverages, puddings, or to make additional servings of the drink.

Bikini Recipe

Serves 10 people

To make the Citrus Syrup (makes 750ml)

300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar

Ingredients for the Cocktail (produces 850ml, serving 10)

400ml decent vodka
100ml London dry gin
150ml peach-flavored liqueur
200ml clementine cordial (from the recipe above)
Fresh cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, to finish

Method

To prepare the Syrup: Place the listed ingredients inside a saucepan, heat until it reaches a gentle boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Next, remove from the burner and leave to cool fully. Pour into an sterilised bottle, close it and store in the refrigerator, where it will keep for around a month.

For the Batch Mix: Pour all the liquid ingredients into one large bottle, leave to sit for one hour, then filter it preferably using a fine cloth, so it's completely strained.

When ready to serve: Measure 85ml of your cocktail base to a stirring glass packed with ice, and agitate gently for a minute to chill. Filter to a chilled martini glass or similar, top with a few cranberries and finish using a quick spritz of mandarin oil over the drink.
