I will stamp all over 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
